KEYNOTE: The Evolution of Today’s Multi-Platform Game Market
Philip Rosenberg, SVP of Business Development, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA)
Video games and game devices have been around for more than 40 years, constantly redefining and pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment to meet the changing needs of a consumer experiencing more demands on their time, attention and pocketbooks. What once served as a device dedicated solely to providing gamers with access to one-dimensional gaming content, has now morphed into a digital hub for living rooms around the world – capable of playing movies and music while also bringing families together with motion control games and 3D entertainment.
The rise of gaming on smart phones and social platforms, combined with the explosive growth of online content services, has created unprecedented opportunities – and new challenges – within the console market. These changes are spurring new innovations and immersive entertainment experiences that will continue to shape the industry for the next 40 years. The competition is fierce and companies are working harder than ever to innovate and integrate new technologies, features and content to draw consumers in. Phil Rosenberg, Senior Vice President of Business Development, SCEA, will speak about why the gaming business is entering a renaissance age, key trends driving change, and the road ahead for today’s multi-platform game market.
